From raw material to extract powder

Mushroom Extract Manufacturing Process

Follow the supplied fruiting-body extraction workflows from raw-material acceptance through extraction, drying and batch testing. Explore each stage to see how hot-water and dual extraction differ, including the ethanol precipitation used in the hot-water route, and confirm the process for your selected product.

From cultivation to accepted raw material

Cultivation inputs are checked for pesticide residues and heavy metals. After controlled cultivation, harvesting and drying, the material is tested before warehouse acceptance; material that fails the checks is not used.

Prepare the fruiting bodies for extraction

Select stored mushroom fruiting bodies, remove unsuitable material and residual growing medium, then crush and sieve. The prepared material is stored before entering the selected extraction route.

Follow the selected extraction route

The hot-water route uses purified water for two decoctions. The dual route begins with 70% food-grade ethanol, then filters and retains the alcohol-extract fraction while the separated solids undergo water extraction.

Concentrate and separate the extract

Filter the water extract and concentrate it under vacuum below 75°C. Add food-grade ethanol for precipitation, collect the precipitate and recover the ethanol. This precipitation step also appears in the hot-water workflow.

Turn the prepared solution into powder

Add purified water and dissolve the collected material at 90°C before spray drying. For dual extraction, combine it with the retained alcohol-extract fraction. Collect the dried powder in the designated production area.

Finish and check the production batch

The supplied finishing workflow covers mixing, sieving, packing and finished-product testing. Accepted and nonconforming products are stored separately according to the test decision.

Sourcing Questions

Find answers about ingredient formats, extraction methods, testing documents, samples and bulk supply. Use these details to prepare your enquiry, then confirm the specification, availability and order terms for your selected product with Molai’s team.

What is the difference between mushroom powder and extract powder?

Mushroom powder is milled dried material; extract powder undergoes extraction, concentration and drying. Compare composition and formulation performance.

Are all Molai mushroom ingredients made from fruiting bodies?

No. Molai also supplies Cordyceps sinensis mycelium extract. Confirm species, source material and every blend component.

Does a 10:1 extract contain more beta-glucans than an 8:1 extract?

Not necessarily. Ratios describe material input relative to extract output. Compare beta-glucan assay results using the same method and reporting basis.

Should I choose hot-water or dual extraction?

Choose by target composition and application. Compare finished-grade markers, physical properties and relevant residual-solvent results for hot-water or water-and-ethanol extraction.

Can I request a sample and testing documents before ordering?

Yes. Request free sample support, specifications and batch COAs. Confirm grade, quantity, availability and shipping terms.

What are the MOQ, bulk packaging and lead time?

MOQ varies by grade and format. Standard packaging is a 25 kg polyethylene-lined drum; regular dispatch is quoted at 7–14 days, subject to availability. Confirm custom timelines and transit separately.

Can Molai produce a custom blend or private label product?

Yes—blends, capsules, tablets and mushroom coffee. Send proportions, specifications, serving amount, packaging and quantity; agree confidentiality terms before sharing proprietary formulas.

What information is needed for a comparable bulk quote?

Provide species, material, process, markers, methods, quantity and destination, plus certification, packaging and delivery needs.
